OLYMPIC CHAMPION'S the BROWNLEE BROTHERS  VISIT HORSFORTH

Our President and Captain welcomed the Brownlee brothers and the local MP Stuart Andrew on Sunday 18th October to what turned out to be a wonderful event.  The Rabbits section took the lead in organising the event with much valued support from the Lady VC, Captain and President. The Pros did a sterling job in selling over 100 tickets. The purpose of the event was to celebrate Jonny and Alistair’s achievements as well as raise funds for the Rabbits section with 50% going to cystic fibrosis charity.  £500 will go to that worthwhile charity. Year 5 pupils from local Horsforth Primary schools were invited to write about the boys and we had 100 entries, the four winners came on the day and were entertained and met the Olympians. The lads were up for some golf though Jonny did say: "It's a bit nerve-racking really; I've not played a lot of golf before.”  Stuart, our MP, led a Q&A which showed how competitive the boys were as well as their pragmatic attitude to life. There were opportunities to sign their book as well as have photographs taken. It was great day for HCC which involved members, families and the local community.
